This question isn’t important, I know, but I’m wondering why and who cares about watching the so called ” celebrities” playing Poker? They have millions of dollars I’d say and they probably pay for the tv time to be seen. Television sure has changed. Most game shows are so stupid or sexually promoted and doesn’t even interest most people. Well, it’s true–Money Talks—Right?

  1. Mr. Luva Luva Says:

I only like certain celebrities because they are actually good at poker. Most celebs agree to go on poker shows just for publicity and to revive their careers. But, I do enjoy watching actors Shannon Elizabeth and Ben Affleck. They are 2 of the best celebrities out there right now.

But I do agree with you that most celebs are in it for the money. The best poker show on TV right now is “High Stakes Poker” on the Game Show Channel and they don’t have ANY celebrities. That’s probably why I enjoy it so much.

There are two shows you could be talking about. Celebrity Poker Showdown, which has been canceled anyway. And High Stakes Poker.

As far as the former goes, I guess you must be right, since the show has been axed. Although keep in mind they were playing for charity on that show, not themselves.

As for the latter you are watching world class professional poker players play a real high stakes cash game where they could win or lose a million dollars on a single hand. As a poker enthusiast, I find that interesting. But to each their own.
