The betting structure is not always the same. Sometimes they use antes, but most games begin with two players positioned on the left side of the dealer placing out a pre settled money so then there is a primary fund or amount to get things started. This step is called the posting of the blinds.

2. The Texas Hold’em Poker dealer completely shuffles a deck of 52 playing cards.

3. Each Texas Hold’em Poker player holds and is dealt with two cards facing down. These two cards are called you’re the hole cards or pocket cards.

4. After which, there is a one round of betting beginning with the player on the left of the two other players who posted the blinds. In Texas Hold’em poker, this round of betting is usually called and associated with the terms pokers ‘pre flop’.

5. The primary fund or amount betted varies on what type of game is played, or what kind of betting structure is used.

6. In Texas Hold’em Poker, like any other real money pokers, players can also raise, fold or check.

7. After the end of the first betting round, the dealer cast offs the top card of the deck. In Texas Hold’em Poker, this card is referred to as the burn card. This step takes place to avoid cheating among poker players.

8. The dealer will then flip the next three cards and place them on the table, face up. In Texas Hold’em Poker, these cards are called flop. The flop cards are shared so any of the players in the table can use them with their two pocket cards to shape up a poker hand.

9. Then the 2nd round of betting will begin with the player on the left of the dealer.

10. After the betting concludes, the dealer will again cast off another burn card and flips one more card into the table. In Texas Hold’em Poker, this card is called the turn card. Then, The players will now use this sixth card to create a five card poker hand.

11. The player to the left of the dealer, again, starts another round of betting. Like the other types of real money pokers, this is also the part of the Texas Hold’em Poker where the amount of bet is doubled in size.

12. And to end the game, the dealer will burn a card and position the final card on the table, face up. This card is referred to as the river. Texas Hold’em Poker players will now use any of their five cards on the table or the two cards in their pocket to create a five card poker hand.

13. The last and final round of the betting will again begin with the player to the left of the dealer.

14. Then, all the remaining players in the table will have to reveal their hands, beginning with the player on the left of the dealer. This is called the Texas Hold’em Poker showdown.

15. And of course, the player with the best cards on hand wins. In cases where players have equal hands, will have to share in the winning.

Online Poker

Online Poker

Online poker has all the advantages of online gaming. It can be played comfortably from home, without the need for formal dressing up. It is inexpensive, requiring only a computer and an Internet connection. It offers total anonymity, with your real identity being hidden by your online one.

But online poker also offers several other advantages that allow novice poker players to take up the game. Novice players find it difficult to hide their emotions. In online poker the proverbial poker face has become a non-issue because other players cannot see you. Therefore you can whoopee if you draw a full house or curse aloud if your highest card is a ten and no one will be the wiser. Also no one can catch your poker tells. So if you have the tendency to scratch your ears when you are bluffing go ahead and do so. Also you do not have to worry about deprecating looks from poker professionals if your bluff has been caught or you have wagered unwisely.

Cost wise online poker is a cheaper proposition than table poker. Since the poker casino is not involved in the play there is no house edge involved in the game. Therefore poker tables make their money through the rake, which is a percent of the pot. Online poker has lower establishment costs. There is no real infrastructure to maintain ? no expensive décor, no plush poker tables and no liveried staff. Hence online poker casinos can make do with a lower rake. Also the number of players is much more and so is the turnover. Therefore again a smaller rake enables the fixed costs to be met. A lower rake is of immense benefit to poker players because it directly translates to larger winnings.

Online poker rooms have a wide range of clientele and they have learnt to cater to them all. Special attention is paid to novice players because in time they develop into regular clients and become the mainstay of the poker casino. There are separate low stake tables for novice players to ensure that they are not milked by the poker professionals. There are a wide variety of teaching aids available on poker casinos. These include explanation of poker rules and poker strategies, interactive tutorials and demonstration games, glossary of terms pokerss and tips from in-house professionals.

Finally poker rooms are fun places. There is lot of live chat and interaction through bulletin boards. Poker casinos offer plenty of bonuses that go to extend your bankroll. If you ever wanted to play online real money pokers but were afraid to go to a brick and mortar casino then the online poker room is the place for you.

A Newbie's Guide to Buying Quality Poker Chips

February 15, 2011 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Poker Articles

A Newbie’s Guide to Buying Quality Poker Chips

Let me start off by saying that there are (3) main types of Poker Chips available, Plastic, Clay and Ceramic.

Low end (dollar store) Plastic are the least expensive chips and can be found at most grocery stores or “dollar” stores. They are very low in weight and are made solely of cheap plastic. Needless to say, these type chips are not very durable and are not recommended.
ABS Plastic (high impact strength plastic) are made with a higher end ABS type plastic. Most of the time ABS Plastic Chips will be manufactured with a metal inlay, this adds to the weight and “real feel” of the chips. The use of this material allows for a more defined design than Clay Composite’s. They are very durable and will outlast most Clay Composite’s due to the strength of the ABS plastic. Plastic chips make a “ding” type sound when thrown into the “pot”.
NexGen Plastic: This specialized manufacturing process makes these chips feel very close to a Clay Composite Chip. NexGen Chips have a softer, duller surface and stack very well. Dollar for dollar you cannot beat the value of the NexGen line for longevity and durability.
Clay (clay composite): There are really no 100% clay chips, they are made of a Clay Composite. If they were 100% clay, they would crack and break constantly. If a chip is 5% Clay, the manufacturer can still say they are clay. With that said, there are many grades of Clay Composite’s and a wide price range. The best Clay Composite Chips are manufactured using “compression molding” instead of “injection molding”. An example of “compression molded” chips are Paulson, they are Casino Quality and are the best available chips for the home gaming market. Clay Composite chips make a “thud” type sound when thrown into the “pot”.
Ceramic: These type chips are not 100% ceramic, they are mixed with a polymer to give them added strength. A very important factor to remember about the ceramic chips is that the image is embedded below the surface of the chip and will never fade or peel off. Ceramic Chips have a textured surface and stack very well.

There are also a number of different chip weights (measured in grams). There is a misconception that chip weight is a direct reflection of the chip quality, this is totally untrue. Chip weight is only a matter of preference.

I hope this guide has helped you gain a better understanding of the various Poker Chip types that are available and will assist you in making a better decision when choosing your Poker Chips.
